IMHO, this post goes a little overboard, and the picture of the clown is a really severe, and very uncommon case. I've never QT'd my tail spot blenny while he has a spot showing, and all other fish are fine. Just a good diet and good water, and you should be fine. Clowns can fight through anything. Just keep an eye on it.
Does it look like this might be what it is?

I would say that is it. They are a little larger than the picture of the blue hippo. I was doing a little research and from what one article i read said (only one source so not set in stone) that different strains affect different species so it is rare that one fish will infect another species. He can infect the other clown though. Says the only fatalities are ones that scaring is caused and happens to be on gills or mouth which restricts breathing and eating or if the damaged area becomes infected after the legion leaves. I am glad he will be ok

When i came home the clown was swimming closer to the top. Went food shopping and now i can't find him. Took apart a bunch of the rock work looking for himno dice. I don't see him in the overflow or on the floor. I am stumped. I assume he didn't make it but any idea where to look?

He was acting normal except for the spots, right?
My guess is he's somewhere in the tank hiding. He's small, he could be anywhere. IF he did jump out, you have cats, so I doubt you'd find him. Don't you have a top on your tank though?

Except for staying up at the top of the tank yeah. The only thing that worries me is he was pretty inseperable with the other one.

I'd wait until lights have been on for awhile tomorrow and then try feeding. Also look in the sump, etc, you'd be amazed what fish I've seen get into the sump and still to this day can't figure out how they got there (Coral Beauty Angelfish for one).
If he did disappear, you should be okay to add another since they're still so young.

Ah man. That sucks!
I would get another ASAP, or possibly trade in the other and start fresh with two. I'm fairy certain that AquaHut has some babies that were wild caught so they'll accept an anemone easier later on down the road.

Yeah he is about an inch and a half so I assume young. I will go get him a friend in the next couple of days

The other clownfish just died :( I will never use this dealer again. They were both sick and neither was eating. I only took them from this guy because I was selling him a stand and he needed to round it out with some trade. Why do you become a dealer in this hobby if you are just going to mistreat the animals?

That's horrible. This is one of my complaints with MR. Definitely write it up on his iTrader ratings. People are always afraid to write anything negative, I have no qualms about doing so. Good luck with a new pair!!!

I was going to wait a few weeks to get a new pair because I got a mini ammonia/nitrite spike over the weekend because the first one died. I was planning on grabbing a small pair of Peculas (I like the black on them when they get older) but just read on MR the guy who built my canopy Bobby his son was just diagnosed with Asperbergers and blood clot in his brain. He is trying to sell everything quick to get cash. He has a pair of ORA Ocellaris that I may take off him to help out. Some corals too. Nice guy. You may know him I think he goes to the LIRA meetings.

I heard/read what he's going through. So terrible. His clowns are beautiful, I'd snatch them up, they're already paired and it looks like with an anemone (BTW, he's selling stuff for incredibly cheap). I may grab that tank and stand if my husband lets me.
I think it's great that everyone is willing to chip in to help out. Keeps my hope in humanity.

He built my canopy and did a really good job. I bet that stand and canopy is built great. It looks like they are organizing a mini frag swap with all benefits going to him. Just when I was starting to sour on MR I get reminded not all people are the last few I dealt with
Back to my tank :)
The Koralia 8 I had put in my tank was way too big for it so I put it up on MR. I am trading it out tonight with a guy in Mastic for 2 heads of pure yellow Frogspawn (never see the yellow), acans green/blue 6 heads, Hulk Green Clove Polyps and Sympodium. I had picked up the 8 for $30 so very happy with the trade :) Pictures to follow. I also got 7 heads of Chinese Firecracker Zaos. I will take pics of these also. They glow in the Antics

Here is an update and a question
I ended up trading the powerhead but didn't take the Sympodium. I gave him the PH + $50 for
2 heads of pure yellow Frogspawn
acans green/blue 6 heads
Hulk Green Clove Polyp
1 head of Blasto
2 heads of war coral
1 medium Toadstool
1 orange and blue Ric
Everything but the clove polyp opened up yesterday under the lights and looked good. I have the clove down in the sandbed with low flow. I think I need to put it in a higher flow area. I also put the Toadstool in the sandbed in low flow. It opened up great under the MH but closed with the antics. I think I need to raise it up. I will take pictures tonight
I picked up 60 lbs of live rock tonight off of a local guy. I was told this was in the tank and cured but turns out it was the leftovers (Really nice pieces though) that he had from buying someones established tank. He had it in a rubbermaid in water with a powerhead but no heater or light. It has been in there between 2-3 weeks. I did not trust to throw it directly in my tank so I put it in saltwater I had in one of my saltwater mixing cans with a powerhead and a heater. I plan on testing the water tonight to see if I get ammonia.
Here is my question. What do i need to do to cure this if I get ammonia? Do I need a light? Should I do a water change and add the water from the tank to the rock? How long should I keep it in there before it is safe to add to the DT? Seperate question that just occured to me. Is it safe to be mixing my saltwater in a rubbermain 30g garbage can I got from Home Depot? BTLDreef it is one of the ones I brought over to get the rock and water from you.
I was also thinking about getting that stuff they say you can cycle in a day or so if you add (don't believe that claim but does contain all the bacteria I need) and add it at the same time as the rock. I figured adding more bacteria may help minimalize a spike if the rock causes one.

I wouldn't raise up the toadstool. They do close at night, higher up, it might burn under you lighting.
Mixing in your garbage cans is fine. The only ones that are an issue are the Brute brand, they leak phosphate into the water.
The rock is probably fine if it's been kept wet and in flowing water. Doesn't hurt to test the bucket that they're in just to be safe. It's been warm enough here that bring without a heater is not going to create die off.
Are you getting those clowns? AquaHut just got in a whole new batch of perculas last night.
