I guess just either regular aquarium silicone found in walmart pet section or the big long tubes of silicon that is NOT mold and mildew resistant. I never knew anything was called RTV?
You could try to "drip" some cement in the joints and wait for it to dry a bit and plug it all back in and check for leaks. Dripping it in the joints sometimes works. There's always ways to modify units to make them work.
