My god, everything is from China

Wow, because of the recent recalls of certain items from China we started looking around and it's shocking. We own multiple retail stores that are geared towards pets (no pet sales) We just went from item to item in everything in the stores, looks like were at about 70-80% chinese products.

Needless to say we are going to go ahead and start eliminating most of the product lines and replacing them with US made. It's going to be a little tough as the US products tend to cost about twice as much, and customers will complain about higher cost, but I think we are going to turn it into an advertising campaign of "Everything is US made" This is going to take some time and a lot of thought.

Anyone catch that special on Good Morning America a few weeks back about the family that decided to elimate everything from their home that was chinese and how hard it was.

Ever hear of the Chinese tourists that came to the U.S. for vacation? They came make home and realized that all their souvenirs were stamped "made in China!"

It took you this long to figure that out !?!? Everyhting nowadays is made in China, Tiawan, Germany, Korea, etc ... Even our American cars are. Not too many things are made in USA anymore ...

Okay, at least my pen is USA made.. maybe by some illegal? Where BIC gets the ink. It's red ink...hmmm...lead? thinking... And, dont try to read the label on the rear your underwear while wearing it. You'll give yourself a nasty neck sprain and a wedgie, ouch.

I work in a plumbing/heating wholesaler, and you'd be surprised how much stuff is made there. They are taking all of our copper, castiron, and steel scrap, refining it and reselling it back to the US for about 1/4 of what american made materials cost. We've refused to sell the chinese crappola and are still making a decent profit on these fittings.

I really think the USA is screwed. China has too much US Dollars. I dont think the 'Made not from China' bandwaggon will hold. If it does, China will dump their US Dollar and drive our economy down the crappola chute.

Take a look at your car - car parts are made in Japan, Germany, Canada, etc ... So much for Ford (or any make) being made in the USA ... Even Saturn parts are made elsewhere. Toyota has auto plants in the US but they are a Japanese car - go figure ...... LOL !!!

well, that's because they cannot make the crappy mileage cars in japan. their mpg in japan is so high they couldn't compete in america with them. it is cheaper to ship the parts here than to ship the cars.
