My Golf Ball Collection!

This has gotten totally out of control. This is just the balls that have been collected from my backyard over the last 4 months, there is another 5 gallon bucket thats full, just didn't feel like hauling it from the back porch. I had no idea that I could sell them untill a friend freaked out when she I showed them to her. I guess the golfers around here use expensive balls, because she was yelling "do you know how much this ball cost?" Something about callaway orange "V" or grey "V" I don't remember....So off to ee bay they go, figure lots of 25 or 50...Considering that I have about 1200 and collect about 20-30 a day, I should make some serious $$... (anyone else notice that this site now automatically deletes the ee bay from your post?)

If they land in the yard and we see the ball land, the golfer is usually around the corner and you can spot them looking for their ball, the walk over and see the ball laying on the ground and then ask "Can you get my ball for me?"
then I say "$20 for the ball" either pay it or take the 2 stroke penalty" Then they say "Your crazy" then I point to the broken window and chunks of stucco that are missing on my house or the broken roof tiles, sometimes they pay...

My neighbor 2 houses down is the one who get's it the worst, his house is on the very end of the island and exposed to the course on 3 sides with no homes to block the balls. He can't park in his driveway because the windows will get busted or huge dents in his truck. He even has to tell visitors to park about 4-5 houses away and then walk over to his house. Even had to have special 4" thick screens placed on his windows because he was getting 1-2 windows a week that were getting shattered. Our homeowners association will not allow G-ball netting for asthetic reasons. We had no idea it was going to be this bad when we purchased the home. Nevada law states that a golfer is responsible for the actions of the ball after it's had contact with a golfclub, so everyone has video surveilance with a time stamp and then we go after the golfer and have won everytime. We've talked to the course to have them realign the course and move the hole over about 40 feet which would make a huge difference, but they've refused, so all of us are becomming total jerks and suing everytime there is an incident, we are becomming so annoying that they are getting complaints from golfers who now don't want to use the course!!!!!!!!!!! Even had our attorney file a later with regards to human injury and that it's a lethal problem, that way if somebody gets bonked in the head and dies at least we will then own the course...I had a ball miss my head by about 6" a few weeks ago.... This is amost a Stephen King novel, my neighbors are really evil to the golfers, spray them with water hoses, use those airhorns right when they swing etc....Kinda funny, these are million dollar homes and everyone is acting like children, we pretty much stay out of it, Guess we should have done our research about buying a home on the course....Ok my mini rant is now over...

why in the H@!! do you live on a golf course... i mean it doesnt take the smartest person to figure out that if you live on a GC there are certain risks that are involved... i understand respect for personaly property, but there should be a respect for the game and individuals playing it... if you said $20 for my ball i would conveiniently slice one at your house every freakin time i was on the course (a bucket of balls on the range is $5.00 and there is alot in a bucket...lol)... eventually im sure you would have matching broken windows and more stucco missing... JMO...

I agree, why live on a golf course? You want the beauty of the view but not what comes with it. If you drive the golfers away, the golf course goes out of business, sells the property, then more homes are built there. Now you have lost your beautiful view. As far as cameras, its a joke, you didnt win and you wont win. You would have to be filming the guy tee off and then follow his balls flight until it hit your window. As far as blowing an airhorn while I am about to tee off. A few jerks did that once while a group of us were teeing off, they were filming the guys reactions and thought they were funny. When they blew the horn while I was teeing off, I teed up another ball and drove it right at them. As the idiots ran for cover, the ball struck the camera and shattered it. Was it luck? sure it was, but I never heard another horn on that course since.

We actually have an acre of land behind our house that is heavily treed so we've only had our house hit once. I have had my van hit twice though when I'm driving down the road. Now I'm afraid to leave my windows down when I'm driving in the nieghborhood cause I'm afraid I'll get knocked in the head.
