Do you know what species it is? That will make a difference. Some are photosynthetic and rely on light, but many are not and can be killed by algea overgrowth from being in the light. I'm not too familiar with each of the gorgonians, but this should get you started - you need to find out what kind it is and what its needs are. It will likely be somewhat of a challange, but research will get you on your way.

It appears to be photosynthetic and you should give it as much light as you can. Also good flow might help it. Also try to feed it. I have a gorgonia and it is going great. So are very tough, but some people have great success with them.
