He retired the end of 08 as a Sergeant, He then went to work at a different police department and has been a resource officer. He was loosing that post and would have to go back to the road, so he decided to switch jobs. He started Friday as a state detective - fraud division. He has to go to Tallahassee Tues to be sworn in. I wish I could go, but the kids aren't out of school yet.
We had actually buy work cloths for him, as he will wear plain cloths for the first time in 21 yrs. One nice thing about it, he can now start his masters and the state will pay for it.

That's cool, will he be able to earn 2 pensions as well? That would be even more cool. My buddy in Az was an auto theft detective for a few years and really loved it. He got shuffled back to patrol and is hating life.
