Last night while watching American Idol while the Bee Gees were performing, my daughter asked if that was Barry White.
I had to explain to her that Barry Gibb and Barry White were not only pretty much opposites in singing styles, but in looks also.
She has done this before. A couple years ago we heard someone covering "Take it Easy" while we were talking about it she said "I know, this is a Travis Tritt song,"

I missed some of Idol last night, I guess their performance as well, but I can't lie, it took a few moments for "Bee Gees" to register....

What about Chicago playing? I think the olny original members are the horn players. They are more like a Chicago cover band now.

Well if you want to talk about the performances, Hall and Oates, what was up with Oates? (The guy who did not sign-I had to look it up to get the name right) I told my wife I thought he looked like a guy you would see at a loading dock, either a trucker delivering stuff, a guy who works there or someone who just like to hang around loading docks.

I missed their peformance but I still have the show on my dvr so I may have to go check them out. I still think Joe Cocker had the saddest performance.

mrdc, I thought Joe Cocker was good, considering how many years ago he first sang that song.

Nah, I know who the Bee Gees are (kinda), I just can't say I've ever seen their name written, I would have assumed it would just would been initials. "B.G.'s" So I thought at first it was a person

There are a few Eagles songs on my iTunes, that's one of them.

oh, music is a major bone of contention in our house. My hubby is a total music hound. Blues, jazz, classic rock etc. He goes to several concerts a year, some times I join him. What my smart arse daughter doesn't realize YET is that everyone we listen to has been around for YEARS.....YEARS!!!! And they will continue to be around. "her/their " music is a flash in the pan, 1 year, 2 tops. She has passed up Eric Clapton, Pat Metheny, BB King (BB friggin' KING!!!) , Buddy Guy, Moody Blues...well the list goes on. oh oh, Susan Tedeschi.........!!! She has some friends that have actually told asked her why she past them up? "why would I see them, how long are they going to be around????"

My kids made me old. I got every gray hair from antics they pulled as teenagers. They turned out okay in the end. Now my grandkids are hitting the teens. I had only one daughter, she has three….

The Mothers curse...LOL

Was at the bar that I work at a few nights ago, waiting on this table. There was a 40ish couple and their 2 daughters. "hello, goodbye", By the Beatles, Off of their 'Magical Mystery Tour' album, started playing.
The father jokingly says to the daughter "Do you know who this song is by?"
And she says "Target."
She was 18.
I am 21. I have a vinyl copy of this, it's on my itunes and I have a collector's edition Magical mystery tour promo poster.
WTF?
