as some already know our donkey had a little one. the mom wouldnt feed her.so we had to bottle feed him.after a couple weeks he colapsed.we took him to the vet .they treated him with iv for 2 days.he came home and was doing great for a month.yesterday he stopped eating.so today my wife took him to the same vet. they said he has some fur or something in his stomach.they will get it out and he should be fine.well later today they said he aint eating and said they will put a scope in him to see. well they have to blow some air in his stomach for the scope i guess. they put too much air and ruptured his stomach and he died.then they had the balls to say they usually dont work on such small animals. i cant wait till they try and bill me for this . he was a cool little guy acted just like a puppy.. i dont know if i am sad or pissed off right now. but i do know if the vet was at my door step right now he would be one dead mother fu.....

Oh my, that is sad. But who can tell what was really wrong with him. He seemed to have bad luck from the get-go.
You did your best. He was loved.

Thats so sad man. I would be sad now and pissed at the bill later. You did everything you could for the little guy and i know he felt loved.

I'm sure it was just a tragic accident. But If I got a bill for it I'm also sure that I would go ballistic.

Vet would have to be a complete idiot to bill you if his mistake took out your pet. Bummer in any case. It's the sickly critters we tend to get most attached to.

Fur in his stomach???? Poor little fellow, he just seemed doomed to die, maybe mom sensed something and that's why she refused to feed him. I think there was more going on with him. He should not have colapsed if you were bottle feeding him, folks bottle feed baby goats, donkeys and sheep all the time..he should have gotten enough nurishment. He should certainly have been okay after a month, and where could he get enough "fur" in his tummy without licking himself to access. He may have had a very thin lining to his tummy and inflating it did the final damage. Yes, I would say it's time for a new vet...
I am so, so sorry for your loss, and I say a little prayer for you guys, I know your wife is very attached to the critters...they are her babies.

well thanks everyone.i will miss him. my wife works at a hospital and she talked to some nurses today they said it can happen. the donk did have some blood in his stool.so we are thinking he might have had an ulcer or something torn a little already and the air just blew it out.either way i feel better today.my wife is a wreck.our neighbors watched him everyday every week when we were at work.my wife told them but i havnt spoken to them myself.like you said flower he just didnt seem right and probably would have had health problems his whole life. who knows. but he was alot of fun when he was healthy even for the little bit he was here.
