My lr ,is it dieing?

I have a piece of lr at the very top of my rock work and half of the rock has turned white? Is it dieing?

What kind of light is it under?
It may have simply bleached. That is the coralline probably. If so, it will grow back.

Coralline turning white can also be a sign of low alk & calcium. If you want more coralline than you can shake a stick at start dosing Kent Tech CB (Part A&B) or another balanced calcium buffer every day. In a month or two you will be scraping your glass with a razor blade you'll have so much (just make sure you measure it so you don't overdose)! If you want to get really serious get a calcium reactor!

If the live rock is regularly exposed to air, such as in a water change, the coraline can die. IT should grow back.

it would have to be exposed to air for quite a while- that wouldnt be the problem- i wouldnt stress too much about it though

o o o now i know why it is ,i did a fresh water dip with the rock to get the mantis out but that was like a week ago
