do you have any opinions on the odyssea halides. i heard some things about the fans being too noisy but for the price who cares.

where in florida are you? I just set up my 40 breeder with T5s and love them. It is going to be a mixed reef with softies, lps, a few sps and a clam or 2. When I get my camera up I can send some pics. But your set up sounds pretty similar to mine.

The hang on fuge works great. basicly it is a clear troufe were you can have a small portion of lr ls and chato. it helps with your prams and also provides a place for copods to live. I have a large fuge for my 46 it is a 20g display a good fuge will need good flow so you might want a ph just befor the fuge
as far as the lights go I have never had any experence with them sorry

I am running 4x39w t5s in this order:
Front
ATI Aquablue 12K
ATI Blueplus 450nm
GE Daylight 6500K
UVL Super Actinic 420nm
Back
These are run off of 2 workhorse 5 ballasts and Icecap reflectors. I drilled and build overflows in the tank and have about 600gph running from a Quiet one 4000. Below I have a 20L sump/fuge. The gph is a little high and I am having some problems with microbubbles, but I am playing with a bunch of ideas on how to eliminate this without sacrificing flow. Ill try to get some pics up later today.

sounds good. id love to see the pictures. did u drill the tank yourself. how hard is it to drill a tank. My LFS will do it but said if it cracks he will not replace it. Thats why i was going to do overflow instead of drilled. How much was your t-5 setup and what brand is it. thanks for all the info and suggestions from both you and signguy
have a great day

Nice t5 setup Ryan, if you got an icecap ballast and overdrive the lamps, you'd really get some serious light, but the bulbs would be shot in about 9 mos. Longer if you fan cool them. 45gal RO water $20?! I paid only about 60$ for my whole 6 stage 100gpd on

[hr]
and I've made hundreds and hundreds of gallons with it. Might wanna think about that if you're paying that much for water. Aqua safe systems. Check out reefgeek for the lights btw!!

Ryan, I'd like to see some pics of your tank just to see what that particular bulb configuration looks like...I'm preparing to get 4 new 54w lamps.

thats a good price for an RO unit. I guess overtime it will pay for itself over and over and over. so i will add that to my setup price. Thanks for the info. I too would love to see some pics because i am getting more and more interested in T-5's. Im no good with electrical tho so id have to get a Nova Setup. Are they pretty much the same thing as what you have.

yea, I know the icecap would overdrive them, but the ballasts were given to me, and even if I bought them new they are only $25 each. Also like you said the life really runs down on them whem overdriven.
I have to upload the program to put the pics on comp. so I will try to get them later today.
Also no particular brand for the T5s, I just pieced it together with different components, to get the best of each type, and just built a canopy.
Drilling glass is easy, but yes you do run a chance of cracking it, but a 40 is thick enough it isnt to bad.

a few zoas and shrooms and a randalls goby and a tailspot blenny. Ill get some pics up in a minute
40lbs of Fiji Pink LS
~50-60lbs LR maybe upto about 70lbs, kind of hard to tell from the rock I already had from the tank before. About a half and half mix of Fiji and Haitian. Most of the pieces that I picked for the tank have interesting shapes or are rather porous, makes for more interesting aquascaping.
