My new Anenome and Clown

I need some advice on the new Anenome and Clown that we have made a home for in our 25gal Nano. The Anenome sometimes goes completely flat against the rock it is on. It has been like that each day for the three that it has been in the tank. Today it has been this way for 10 hours. Is this normal? I also noticed that the clown will not leave it alone even whether it is full or flat. Is that normal? I have checked the water repeatedly and all the readings are great. I even had the local saltwater store test the water with the same results. Any advice would be great.

Not sure what you mean by flat. All the tenticals go limp and lay flat or the anemone just streches way out. The latter is fine.
It looks good in the photo.
Maybe a little light colored which could mean theres not enough or proper lighting but I dont know what kind of lights you have. Its normal for a Clown to really beat up on an anemone for a while when they are newlly together.
Have you tried to feed the anemone yet?

The lighting came with the tank. It is a Nano Cube 24gal by JBJ. By laying flat I mean that is seems to release all the water it is holding. It does not lose the purple color at the base but all the tenacles seem to deflate. I just took this picture and it seems to be pulling water back in. It is twice the size as when it was flat.

I really want to get a rose bubble tip anemone but I am worried about it moving around stinging everything. I don't want to lue it down either.

I have fed it what the store gave me called "Marine Snow, Plankton Diet" It is a Plankton substitute. I have also gave it a small piece of fresh shrimp. It loved that....ate about half and then the clown got the other half. The Store that I bought it from said to use the Plankton every other day. I read on here to feed it shrimp or fish bits about once a week. Is that RIGHT? So I got up this morning and here it is back to it normal giantic size and the clown is happy happy happy.
To answer your question Fraggle: I a pretty sure that it is a Florida Condi Anemone. The store I got it from called it a green tip anemone....but I think that was just because they didn't know either. And the tips of it are light green when fully expanded.

I was looking at the lights and here is what comes with the JBJ Nano 24gal.
2 - 36 watt CF 50/50 lamps
2 - Nite-VU Moon Lights
Is this enough to support the Anenome?

Yes, You should feed it meaty chunky marine food like krill, silversides, squid, ect. like the raw shrimp was good, about twice a week untill its more healthy. It will release the food if its not hungry.
Thats not a Condy. IMO, Its a Bubble Tip. I dont think your lights are good enough to keep the anemone long term without proper feeding.
It does look like it can be a very nice anemone, great color. And a nice host for the clown. Its a great relationship to watch and a shame to loose.

What type of lighting do you have?? Anemones require intense lighting that you can not usually get with standard lights that come with tanks. This could be your problem.

Thanks for the ID Dogstar. I did find out more and it is a BubbleTip. I took another picture just now when I got home from work. Take a look at this beauty. I fed it some more raw shrimp and it took it right away. I think the meaty food is doing the trick. I am going tomorrow to the Saltwater shop to look for better lighting. I like the tank setup with the Anenome so I will invest in the best lighting I can find.
- Any suggestions for the type of lighting???
- the tank is a 24 gallon nano with about 30 lbs of live rock and 20 live sand.
Thanks for all the help so far. Glad I found this place.
