My new Coral

I just got a new coral for my tank yesterday(sunday) a Colt coral and it wasnt this big at the store. The colt is about 6-7 inches. So my question is how long do i wait until I can start fragging it. I have a little piece on the edge that wast connect to the rock very well that would be very easy to cut it off with a razor blade. The colt opened up immediatly after putting it in my tank. At the store it was only about 4-5 inches. Also i have read on how to frag the colt coral. But the big debate is how to attach it to the rock! They say it slimes to much for super glue, and the needle or toothpick will just come out. So any ideas on attaching to the rock???

i dont think the epoxy will work b/c the colt would slime too much. I also read that the rubberband would just cut through the coral

the only other things I can think of is to get a buch of rubble pieces and stack them around the stalk to keep it in place.....or get a piece of pvc pipe and stick it in there. Should attach within a few weeks. Good luck.

the rubber band will work you just cant put it to tight around the coral or it will splice the coral.
i do it 2 different ways
1
with PLASTIC toothpics. ( wood will cause the coral to grow onto it and is difficult to remove). anyway run the toothpic towards the bottom of the coral and wrap the rubber band around the rock to both ends of the toothpic but not real tight just enough to keep it in place.

is with a needle and fishing line sew the frag to the rock just tight enough to hold it in place.
supperglue can work somtimes but not usually and the epoxy isnt a good idea because the epoxy wil harden and cause the coral to be restrained in the epxoy.
I would leave the colt coral in the tank for a couple of weeks without doing anything until in gets used to the tank a new coral will have some stress and fragging it will cause more. also when you do frag it get a bucket of tank water and remove the colt from your tank the slim will casue the other corals in the tank toi stress out.
