your gonna have to upgrade or give away that lion in a couple months, same thing with the SFE, even though people disagree on that one.

who said a word about being full grown? One thing you need to remember. They get about as wide as they do long. They grow very fast. Yours is a decent size already. I have seen much smaller. Your tank is probably a 55 which makes it only 12 inches wide. These guys get wider than that. It would be like you turning around in your doorway with your arms open. Not much fun huh?

Hi there,
I didn't mean a couple as in 2 months literally but if fed well, lions grow very quickly and if you don't have proper filtration on a smaller tank then he is gonna polute your water. crypt keeper says a year or more on the eel which I guess I can agree with but the lion will for sure have to be taken out much sooner.
but to the pics, very nice fish you picked out.

I would buy another 30 pounds of live rock for biological filtration. Get the sand off the rock that is already in there. You need a couple power heads in there big time. You have very very little flow. That green tube with the holes punctured in it is doing nothing. I would get two Korila 3s and place one on each side. I would have have one pointed upwards hitting the top of the water creating waves. Lions need highly oxygenanted water. They poop a lot. Not really messy eater as they swallow most stuff whole. Your eel will be a messy eater thus will cause food to sit in places you may not see and just rot away. I get about 10 hermit crabs if you dont have them already. I highly suggest on hang on the back skimmer like a Cpr Bak pak 1 or two. The two is nice because it has room for a fuge which would help out a lot as well with controlling trates which will be a huge issue in your tank givin the minimal mechanical and biological filtration I see from the pictures.
