My new Fuzzy dwarf lion

I picked him up on Saturday. He finally started to eat today, a few ghost shrimp. The only thing is that he doesn't swim around. He just chills on the rocks. Is this normal?

Very pretty lion. I wouldn't worry about him not moving much as long as he's eating. Lions aren't the most active fish, although some will swim around a lot more than others (usually when hungry.) Try to wean him off ghost shrimp. Although they aren't harmful like freshwater feeders, he'll get a better died with prepared foods such as krill, squid, silversides, clams, etc. Using a feeding stick can help immensely.

Today was the first time he has eaten. I tried to feed him some krill yesterday he wouldn't take it. Any suggestions on trying to get him to take it? Do you know of a place that sells a feeding stick?

you can feed them by hand if you arent afraid of getting stung thats how i got mine to eat krill. just give him a couple fish by hand then one feeding try krill he should learn to trust you.

I would like to get on more fish if possible. I already have a blue spotted puffer he is pretty small. What about a niger trigger? Is a flame hawk an aggressive fish. The lion isn't aggressive at all, the puffer is just curious, he didn't even go for the feeder guppies. What would be a good fit? I have a 50 galon tank.

nice fish, i have a dwarf lion and he sits either on the rocks all day or up at the top of my tank upside down leaning on the intake tube of my filter. He swims up to the top of the tank when i first come in the room because he thinks hes getting food. Mine didnt eat krill or any dead food for a couple of weeks so i just didnt feed it live food anymore and then one day he ate the krill and now will accept anything i give him. They wont starve themself. So just dont give in. Good Luck

Thanks for the info CDubbs! That is exactly what mine does, he doesn't swim around at all just stays under the rocks. I know they are nocturnal, but he even does it at night.
