Allright you got a deal. I really do love the hobby, I stare at my fish tank every night, even thouhg I have a whole 3 fish in it. It's great, just having a hard time trying to get it right.
I am still waiting to see what my options are if one of my damsels is being aggressive. Should I flush him? When I finally get some additional fish, I don't want my new fish getting killed.

I think you need to take a step back and think about what you are doing....
An aquarium, if done correctly, is supposed to mimic the natural environment. You are making a habitat for LIVING creatures. The damsel that YOU bought is YOUR responsibility. Damsels on the reef are territorial creatures. You can't blame the fish for your mistakes.
Read, read, read... then think, think, think. After that make informed decisions. If you get different opinions, then analyse what the different arguments are.
Above all, remember that your fish are living creatures. They are your responsibility to protect, raise, and provide a healthy shelter to.

Do lfs usually take them back? I once had a piranna I wanted to take back to the store and they wouldn't give me anything. I finally had to beg them to take it for free. It was a pain. Moral of the story I would like to avoid killiing it at all cost.

they should. The lfs may of stopped selling that fish since there wasnt enough ppl buying them. They may of put other fish in that tank and didnt have a place for it without it eating everything. Buying fish like that is a pain since they may or may not have a place for it later. Most places will take it back if not then I would find a diffrent lfs!

fish stores are just that stores. they want a profit. and they see a newbie and figure hey heres a buck. i also was givin the damsel sale and i had them trying to bite at me when catching them. i know if i read two other books after the one i read before i started my tank i would have saved maybe a couple houndred dollars. i was sold stuff not needed and things that were going to have to be replacedll all of which made my tank have to start over. this is an expensive hobby and also a one with lots of science. just go to a good bookstore and read. you will save lots of time money and more than likely some livestock.

That is true but most places if you take it back right away will give you full price back for it or at least partial. My lfs takes fish back. I had bought fish from him and had them for over a year I decided to go saltwater took them back and he gave me cash for them "and in turn spent them on a bulb for my tank". I had 2 archer fish 3 cory doras a 5" pleco and 2 gouramis and he gave me $23 bucks for it. I bought them for well over that but still he gave me most of my money back a "year" later.

the powerheads i have are going to be up to 400 or more gallons per hour each (2 at 1000) is that suffice or is it that i need many small ones to create the curent

50 lbs like sand
tank
stand
50 lbs livesand
1 hood (1 2 or 3 tubes)
150 or so lbs live rock added at 50 lbs a time over 3 weeks to 6 weeks
50 lbs livesand (is that enought 100lbs)
anyone have a good skimmer under 130 thaht they can recomend that knows where it would be in ny
any other equip recomentdations other than a wet dry filter
is it posible to use reguler rock and it will become live rock??
anything that i should know
and also i know that these fish if at all come latter on

2800 gallons per hour is to mutch and that is excluding the filters and skimmers and such. 2700GPH is the max and that would be for a reef that would be 30X and that is still excluding the filters and such. You need to take the water movement your filters cause into concept to.
