My new reef

I HATE cyano. Mine finally disappeared in my 55 reef... well 98% of it. A spot will show up here and there and disappear. I've done everything that has been recommended on here. I'm not sure which helped the most. I figure cutting back my feedings was the biggest thing. It's just no fun - getting rid of it can take forever...
what have you tried so far?

Its is no fun. And yes its been weeks playing around with flow, that didnt work just made it spread more. I cut back on feeding but with my sun corals and manderian(sp?) I cant cut back too much. All tests are spot on. I was using water from Kroger when I put up this tank TDS were 30ish no problems. I buy my own rodi unit TDS at 6 before the di part so that cant be it. Talked to someone at my very trusted LFS they recommended to change the power head on the cpr backpack. Did that. Skimmate production is up by at least 75%. Thats good right? Keep sucking or scrapping it off! The cyano is only on the sand bed in the front of the tank so at least its easily mechanically removed! Just did my weekly 5 gal w/c yesterday and cyano collection, its already starting back today
. what did you do?

I used Marcyne (sp) your LFS will know what it is. Very cheap and it was GONE! in about 7days 100% GONE , never came back and didnt hurt ANYTHING. I also tried the light thing , the flow thing , the feeding thing...blah,blah,blah sometimes you just have to treat it
worked for me ,good luck Bro. Tank still looks GREAT

so how goes the cyano fight? did you treat the tank yet?
No not yet still waiting to see if the improved skimming action does the trick. Keep your fingers crossed. I really hate using treatments. Even medicine I try not to use to much, too many things become resistant to "treatments" ie pain, viruses, who knows cyano! If that is what it takes then I will but I am going to give all other options a try first.

Put a new koralia 1 in to continue the battle not much more flow but a little more options for flow direction. Some pics too!
