definitely. i had a seal break on a 75 that was on its proper stand, so this one is dangerous...
looks like you're gonna need some more LR, too!

Grennan A bigger stand is your top priority.
Agreed! You should drain the tank and get the correct size stand RIGHT NOW before doing anything else. We can all definitely appreciate being on a budget, but water damage due to a major break will most definitely be more costly in the long run. Unfortunately, the way it's set up right now is a major disaster just waiting to happen.

I would halt the setup untill you get a stand, or be ready to drain 100 percent of your water to move it to a larger stand. Check craigslist for an in expensive used stand.
Where are you located at?

I'm terrified to even look at that picture with the tank being so much longer than the stand. That looks like a big one too... a lot of water to clean up off the floor.

Dear, Dear, Aqua Techi,
This is a very serious mistake concerning your stand. Can you see how you have NO support for the ends of the tank?
Stands are not expensive, compared to the cost of the tank inhabitants and the damage that will occur when your tank breaks. I would suggest immediately draining your tank and removing the rock, which is perchedon the weakest points of the tank. Either buy a stand to fit your tank or build onto the one you have. I put a custom cut piece of plywood under my tanks inside the stand rim and then foam board on top of that to support the glass bottom.Think how muc weight is there hanging in space!

Alrighty im going to do that then cause I really dont want anything to happen to happen my parents will kill me. Thanks guys wasnt really sure if i really needed a new stand or not but i guess so.

Put your rock and sand in a bucket of your water with a powerhead and a heater. This way it will still be alive.

Well i found an awsome deal on a 75 gallon tank with the stand so im heading towards that deal. Thank You guys again and your going to be seeing more posts with me cause im a real novice in this haha so help is really appreciated

Good idea, and you can save your water too if you have a big garbage can. lowes sells these 30 gallongray rubber cans that are wonderful for mixing your water. You will need to keep some on hand at all times incase of emergency as well as for water changes. Good luck. It will all work out in the end. Do you have a carpenter friend who could help you add supports to the end of what you already have?

No I dont but im not worrying much anymore cause I get a whole other tank setup that is also bigger for only $100 got to love that one
