Hi Meowzer!
I know, it's been a while... Wow, look at you, a moderator now!! Good for you, and the forum, I might add! Thank you on the sump/fuge comment. What do you think of the golf and whoofle balls I'm using instead of bio balls. Think they will work?

IDK about your golf and wiffle balls.....LOL.....Interesting idea though.....I'd like to hear if it works or not
I personally never liked the bio-ball things....too much trouble LOL

Thanks again Meowzer. I will let you know how they work out. I'm not sure about them either, but thought what the heck, I'll try it. Thought I might get a little more feedback/comments, but thanks everyone who looked.

Wow I can't believe no one has commented or touched upon the holey balls yet. The sump looks good, nice diy job. The whiffle balls won't hurt anything, the whole idea is just to have something that will provide more surface area for nitrifying bacteria to grown on. So they may not be as good as bio balls in the sense that they don't have the same amount of surface area I don't see them as being much of a problem for you. But, with that being said, there's really not alof of them in there so I don't now how much of a benefit they are actually going to give you. It looks good though, what are you running in the HOB?

Thanks 2Quills! I figured that the surface area of the balls I am using wasn't near what bioballs have, but man alot cheaper! lol I will get some more though. I have some LR rubble and some plastic type fiber media in the HOB for (hopefully) more pod production. That side (left) is where I also keep 3 damsels (devil fish) They scrounge up any extra food that sneeks by my display tank inhabitants.
