My new tank set up

So my tank appears to be up and running.
I was able to finally afford a test kit after setting it up last Saturday
Temp is staying at 79.5
salinity is a bit low, but within range at 1.021-1.022
Ammonia is 0
Nitrite appears to be .3 mg/L
I don't know if it's on the upward swing still or the downward yet. I am hoping only a little over 1 week till clean up crew.
My ph test is missing the indicator sheet...
I think I'll buy nitrate this week along with alkalinity...
So far it appears so good.
25 gallon with ~28 lbs of sand/ ~12 lbs. of rock
Is there a risk of having a sand bed that deep and having it distrubed by sifters?

a deep sand bed is the best way to go

DSB are a good way to go if the bottom layer is not distrubed so avoid sifting gobies, and sand sifting stars after that you should be good to go
