Its another tank, usually under your main tank and the water is pumped into your main tank. In a fuge you can put LR and vegetation which is a breeding ground for pods, they will reproduce in the fuge and go into the main tank to feed your mandarin. You can look up posts about them here on boards to give you a better idea, hope this helps

yes. You could fill your sump with macro algae and get a light to put on the top of it to encourage the growth of pods and macro algae.
