My new Valentini Puffer!

Got my Valentini Puffer yesterday. He's about 2''. I acclimated him and put into the tank after the lights were out; just the night leds on. The insomniac Yellow Tang flared his fins at the Puffer a few times and tried to body-slam him, and then went into the rockwork. The Puffer swam around for 30mins. And then started picking on my snails.
I knew that was going to happen, but still. Today, after all the other fish came out, he's hiding on the edge of the rockwork, peaking out. I guess getting used to all the tankmates. I fed the tank some arctic pods, but he was hiding. Hopefully he'll start coming out soon!

I want to get one too but they are not reef safe. I have 120 snails and about the same hermits. My LFS wants $30, how much was yours? if you don't mind me asking.

When I first got mine, it would nip at my snails, but never bothered my hermits. The snails learned to hide during the day, and only come out to graze at night when my puffer is sleeping. He hasn't bothered them since.

Most of my snails come out at night as well. He was picking at them last night. But spent all day hiding today; occasionally coming out for a short lap, but near what I'm guessing will be his hiding hole. He didn't eat Marine Cuisine later in the day either.
I'm hoping he's just getting used to it all. He was certainly active last night! I guess if he doesn't eat tomorrow I'll try live brine shrimp.
I paid $10 for him from a private vendor.

Well, he's still hiding today at the edge of the rockwork. I don't like this at all!!
I'm soaking some mysis in garlic (the vendor I got him from said he ate it in his care.) If not that...any suggestions?

Yours is a cutie!!
I've been having some trouble feeding mine. The good news is he's now swimming and looking around, though quite slowly. And occasionally picking on the snails. I've tried feeding a bunch of things (mysis, mussels, squid, marine cuisine - all soaked in garlic), but he's only pecked at garlic-soaked krill. Not much, though. I hope he starts eating soon!
