Thanks for the compliments. I've been reading about how long to run carbon or how often you need to change it. There is a lot of debate, but seems a lot of people agree it lasts a short time or that you don't need to run it that often. Since I have the pump plugged into my AC3, I was thinking of having it switch it off and on periodically to extend the time the carbon will last, and not have it running if it has already pulled the stuff out of the water. I think I can have it run or be turned off for a max of 16 hrs using the oscillation mode. I might be able to do it other ways, ill have to think on it and check out the programming. I wanted to get some input on it first to see if you guys think its even worth it. Or how you would suggest doing it? Any advice is appreciated.

Never really heard it done that way, but it is possible I guess...
I'm not sure that if using it only half the time would be extending the life of the carbon or not.
Good ideas though. Very fresh and new. I like it.

Update. Everything is doing great. Added more coral and a rbta. Clowns won't even touch it yet! Making progress on my led build for it. All LEDs mounted and wired.

My snowflake clown took to my rbta!! I didn't think it was going to happen. I got the anemone on Sat and the clowns wouldn't even look at it. Then tonight he just started playing in it!! Funny thing is, he won't even share with the black and white. Lol

Tank has been doing great! Lovin the LEDs. I'm currently working on a DIY arduino led controller. I'm probably gonna upgrade to an Apex soon so that I can control the LEDs with that too. I've added some more fish and a lot of coral too. Here's some updated pics.

Lights on the tank.
