My one LFS is out of their mind

Well stopped at this one I havnt been to in a while. I know they usually are high in price but MY GOD.
I was walking around and saw a Copperband butterfly. they wanted $150

They are just freaking retarded. Most other places have them for $25-40.

You should ask them if they have any valid reason for charging so much and see what they say.

they will make up same lame story. Like its the first time we ever had one or theyw ill try and say its from some odd location.
Like one time they had an octopus there. They labeled "Bali octopus(first time ever in store)" They wanted $90 for it. yet it was just a common Bimac. Shouldnt have cost more then $40. They sell all their crap so some idiots are paying it.

I got one better for you guys, my LFS is charging $89.99 for a blue hippo tang thats 2.5 inches long.... and here's the kicker, it even comes with a healthy infestation of that good old cryptocaryon we know and love LOL. I almost want to say, i'll give u 5 bucks for him, nurse him to health in a tiny QT for a very very long time and keep him LOL. Just for fun, I asked him about the fish, he told me it was very rare in the trade and that the spots on him were normal. Listen to the advice he gave me if I was to buy him lol... I quote "just float the bag with him in it, after an hour let him loose, add him to your display tank and told me to feed him algae, he'll be fine in a week".... It took every ounce of strength in me not to slap him square across the face.....I was in utter disbelief. My fiancee was with me and she studied marine biology... i've never seen her jaw drop so much..... This is just another example of store owners who know nothing about their livestock.... and unfortunately in the long run the poor fish suffer because of ignorance.....

i will not buy from any lfs. i only take advice from the message board, shop fish prices online and those that offer guarantees and always qt.

i have a good story also I went into my local store and they wanted 300 dallors for a medium tusk. erratiq you sould go in and offer 5 bucks for it I got a spinny box fish for 10 that way. I've had it for almost a year now.
