My own Walmart Fish Food

For the past few months I've been giving my fish my own blend. I buy the mixed sea food at Walmart. Included in the mix are fresh clams, squid, oysters, etc. I put all this stuff minus the imitation crab meat on a food processor and add a 1/4 cup of water from the tank, a few drops of garlic xtreme, a dropper full of Selcon, about two tablespoons full of flake food and four or five Formula 2 cubes. I blend this stuff to almost a paste but keep quite a bit of solid morsels. All of this is put in a large freezer bag and "voila" I have fish food for 2+ months. Approximate cost of the entire mixture $4.00. Lots of very happy fish.

Just added it to my recipe book.
Not for my tank either, but for when all of my teeth have fallen out for drinking too much Mountain Dew.:D

By the way, I forgot to say that you should do this when there is noone home. The aroma can be overwhelming.

Sounds really good. I'll have to try that. I'm currently pushing myself to diversify my fish food selection. Is that all you feed your yellow tang though? Do you think adding pure spirulina from the gel cap diet suplements would work out?

I do give the tangs nori every two or three days. I agree that adding spirulina to the blend is a very good idea.
