well, im gonna try to not add as many chemicals as i did with my last ten gallon. they dont need chemical additives, but it does help:yes: . however remember that water quality can change very quickly ina small tank. i do a one gallon water change every week to prevent this:D . i had a six lined wrasse in my last ten gallon...so i will see what happens. the only complication i ahve is that debris collects in my yellow cup because of its positioning (face up). im thinking of getting a maxi jet or something to make a stronger current, but my emperor 280 provides plenty of that... if anyone has an suggestion or comments plz feel free
:joy: . thanks

i asked u to try and prove me wrong about the wrasse and u said there are some species.....well if ur were refering to a Six Lined Wrasse then u need a minimum of 30 gallons. six lined wrasse loved to swim and in ur sized tank that is gonna be impossible.
i think that u had done a wonderful job setting up ur tank until u used it to confine a wrasse.
please think about taking it back and gettin something along the lines of a goby or maybe a small pair of Percula clowns. There are more options out there such as blennys that u could also keep.

quote on quote "...small pair of percula clowns..." so basically i can have 2 fish that need a 30 gallon tank minimum, as a opposed to one? ok yes a six lined wrasse needs to have rock work to hide in and stuff, but the whole challenge of nano reefs is to show that you CAN keep certain species that require slightly larger tanks. also, a six lined wrasse can grow up to maybe about 2" i would say? percula clowns....maybe about 3"-3 1/2" each.... im not saying that you're wrong, but im just trying to get a point across. that and a six lined wrasse is one of the most popular fish for nano tanks. some gobies can grow extremely long as well. thanks for your input....:D

its the new orbit moonlite hood by CustomSeaife. it cost me about 126 bucks. if you ask me, i would say that this is as ideal as you can get with a lighting system for a ten gallon tank. it runs cool, quite, and provides enough wattage to keep pretty much anything you want. :joy:

Just an additional note on the lighting, I think I have the exact same unit as Vibe's. I decided to go with it after I saw it on his and he said he liked it. I must agree, it is very, very nice! Mine is 20" Wide and 80 watts (40watt dual daylight and 40watt dual actinic). $126 is a good price, but I found it just a little bit cheaper on my favorite auction site. $114 including shipping.

Oh, I mean to ask you Vibe, are you moonlights blue or clear? I always thought moonlights were blue. I don't have mine set up yet, but when I tested it out they looked clear. Maybe they look different over the tank? Just curious. I still love my lights!

yes mine moon light is also "clear" or white. i know isnt this lighting system the greatest thing that has ever happened to nano tanks:eek:
