my puffer is over eating

I think my puffer is over eating. I saw him eat way to much today. He was moping around then a few minutes later, I didn't see him do it, but he puked and some oyster shot out. Then he seemed happy again. What can I do to keep him from eating to much?

what kind of puffer? If large puffers are anything like the small sharpnose puffers they can eat until their stomachs are so fat it darn near looks like they are puffed up. Mine does nothing but eat. doesn't eat a lot during feeding but from dusk to dawn it is picking any and everything it can off the like rock from small tube worms to algae. My valentini's belly can get quite large.
