I have had my qt up for a week with a piece of lr and a damsel also added microbe-lift. my salinty, nitrite and nitrate are good but my ammonia is high at .50! I started the qt tank as soon as i seen ich on my blue hippo tang last week, now i see ich on one of my two clown fish. Should i put them in and start treating them or give the qt tank a little more time? How long are the fish ok with ich?

Well I would certainly get that damsel out of there or he is going to be ill as well. Do not add your fish to that tank with the ammonia that high. Do a water change to lower the ammonia. That level of ammonia will kill a healthy fish, let alone one that is already sick. Your tank is still cycling. That is why your Nitrite and Nitrate appear fine. What is in your display tank and how were you planning to treat them in the qt?

Do NOT add rid ich into your display with your inverts in there. They will all be killed by it. Rid Ich, while a product I use myself, is not safe for inverts. It contains Malechite Green and Formalin. I would dump the water in the qt and add water from your display. Take the piece of lr out of there as well. Ich has already been introduced into the display. I see 2 options for removing it. Hypo the display, or move your fish and treat them and let your display run fishless for 6 weeks. If there were no LS I would say move the inverts, but you don't want to disrupt the sand and that would be a real mess to move. You will have to use the qt for the fish and let you display run fishless. Keep on top of ammonia levels. In 6 weeks you may or may not even see a nitrite spike. You can take an aquarium sponge and let it sit in your display for a few days to gather some bacteria and then place it into the qt. It is a little difficult with an uncycled qt. Your are going to have to monitor closely and do alot of water changes.
