my reef (then & now)

i had a fish only tank twenty some yrs ago and gave it up. this is my first reef. when i first set it up, i would have "never" guessed it would turn out like this.

if you mean the bright orange coral, its a Dendrophyllia (Dendro)
if its the other orange thing in the same pic, its one of my brittle starfish

i like the black sand and would use it again if and when i set up another tank, but as can be seen in the full tank shot without the flash you can see that coralline algea has grown on it in some spots
