My return pump died

The ceramic impeller broke in two at about 3:30 this morning.
Mag Drive 9.5B. It's about 10 years old, so I guess it's time.
What should I do about the tank running without a return pump for a week while the new impeller is being shipped?

If you have any spare powerheads they can go in the display. Is there a refugium that has no waterflow now?
Drain any stagnant water as it will not be healthy once the pump is up & running. Make some new saltwater so it will be ready when the pump is fixed.

I do have a fuge in the sump. I have a pump in the sump keeping water circulated. The skimmer is also going. I also have a reactor that is pushing water from the front chamber to the last chamber to "circulate" it a litte. I am mixing 10g of water right now.
I am actually down a powerhead right now. I'm going to have to add a couple more powerheads to the tank? Should I add the live rock in the sump to the display?
Should I decrease the photoperiod of the tank while the impeller is on the way?

Hi,
I ran an air pump with 4 lines (no stone)...no stagnant water to worry about...air pumps are cheap

I wouldn't worry about the photoperiod unless it's overheating your display. If the rock is sitting in stagnant water then yeah, put it in the display. If there's some water circulation then it should be fine for a week.
Flower is right, nothing wrong with some airstones in the refugium.

I would ditch the Mag drive all together. I had a Mag24 down in my basement sump go on me. Killed everything in my tank except my Blond Naso that I've had for 7 years now. Had parts and pieces in my tank and water was white. I did a 100 gallon water change as fast as I could. I run a Reeflo now... Just my .02

Problem resolved weeks ago. I replaced it with a quiet one 4000 pump. Runs great and uses half the watts that a danner pump uses. Im satisfied.

Unrelated but an interesting FYI - The pump running my freshwater tank was the same pump I started my first reef with in 1979. It has pretty much been running 24/7 since then.

It's an Iwaki. I have swapped out the impeller a few times. Not because it wasn't working but because I couldn't imagine the impeller being intact.
There's a spare in an unopened box sitting right next to the Iwaki.
