Ugggg. I gave him motrin an hour ago and his temp under arm is 101.1. If I had a degree like the nurse told me that would be 102.1
He is also congested and coughing.
Guess who will be up most of the night.

Hope everything will be okay. It's alright to stay up late for your son, it's a great opportunity for him to feel that he is being loved!

oh, he is in bed, he needs his rest. I will be up in case he wakes up and needs me, and for me to make sure his breathing is ok and his fever dosent go up.

Obviously, with a temp of 101-102, and being pretty young, he will need to go to the doctor tomorrow.

we arent to far from the ER if I have to take him. He just woke up crying. I took his temp and its 101. He fell right back to sleep.
Since he is a cleft baby I keep a close eye on his congestion and breathing.
I will defantly be calling the doc in the morning.

Hope he feels better soon. My son is 12 months and out of no where got a 104 temp two weeks ago. I was a nervous wreck. He got alot more sleep than I did that night thats for sure. tylenol and tempid baths, would make it go down a few degrees and then it would slowly creep up a couple degrees agian. It was a sneaky nasty fever and Id never experianced anything like that with my 3 year old daughter before. The next day his temp was back to normal but turns out he had a double ear infection. Nothing makes us mothers feel more helpless than when our kids are sick, but know that nothing is more soothing than a mothers love. Hang in there. Your not alone. It sounds like your taking very good care of your son.

AWW Sorry T....I hope he is okay....
You know. Even when your kids grow up and move out, you still have a lot of sleepless nights :(

Give him lots of love pats.... as in percuss his chest and back. Give him LOTS of fluids. Whenever he gets spurts of energy... let him move around. Don't let it settle. Of course he needs good rest, but too much restriction isn't good either. You'll be able to gauge what's enough as his mom and knowing him like you do.
And I don't mean climb the walls.... just don't bed bound him. :)
If he's never had albuterol before, he's gonna be jittery if the dose is high enough. Blah.

thanks everyone.
Renee, He has had the albuteral before, he dosent like the taste too much. Right now he is putting together his new 100 piece puzzle on the floor. Not in bed, but not running around either.

Perfect.
That liquid is pretty bad and no amount of juice or p.harmacy sweetener can take it away... just gives ya more to drink. Poor little fellow.
