Good luck with yours..I had two..they did'nt make it

I do know they come from deep water..and don't need light.They feed off nitrates and phosphate.Great filters for your tank.

How easy has it been so far?
Im thinking about buying one for my 30gallon so if I ever lose power to my tank they would help me out with the filtering before the water change.

so far so good Its been about a week now and I try to keep it well fed using zoo max, phyto max and chrmo max. The oyster seems happy its open every day.

Looks great. I've had both mine about 6 months. They seem to be OK. They open every day.
They are hard to spot to the right of the photo. They are about the size of a softball. If you look even closer... Under the brain coral their is another oyster of some sort.

Are they suppose to be kept in the sand or in the rock foundation?

I think either way is OK. Mine are in the sand.
