my starfish which i think is close to a linkia just ate a slug.....???

its a six legged starfish that looks like a linkia... and the linkia and this little slug pod... you guys know the kind crossed paths and this thing got under its belly... and now my gf told me the slug is gone and there is a lump in the linkia......
is this normal for linkia type starfish to eat pods/slugs??? is that maybe why they need so much live rock because this is really their diet???

actually its orangeish/redish with about 1000 tiny black dots and it has 6 legs

I believe it may be Echinaster luzonicus. I am not sure what a "slug pod" is. I reckon they do eat some microscopic critters however.
