Yeah i planned on doing a 150w 14k on my 20g high. 250w would be overkill.

You would 100% definitely need a chiller if you went with the 250 watt. The 150 watt is fine for anything you want to put in there anyhow, so why would you get the 250 watt? Im not sure but it wouldnt be much better.

depends on how close the light is. I have a 24g type tank and a 150w its 8.5" above the water but it doesnt cause even 1degree temp change

Right now it causes a 2 degree change from midnight to midday, after the lights have been on for quite some time. Im still looking for a crappy clamping fan to put on the side of the tank, to just put my mind at ease.
