I actually like the bare bottom. I did that for a little while about a year ago after all h*ll broke loose in my sand bed. Hubby really like the sand (hes the main funding), so now its back.
Loco - Ive had my 55 for almost 7yrs, just started the 180....can never go to slow

julius i had live sand for 1 year and i got tire of the sand storms specially when a powerhead will fall . my bad
stuckinfla didn"t know you were a pro . julius you know what i like the best from barebottom the clean look instead of that 3 inches of dirty sand

Loco...I agree about the sand. I did set up the 180 w/sand, but who knows. Not a pro, always learning. I think when it comes to this, were all learning everyday!

Very nice....looks to be maturing real well. Myself...I like a well populated sand bed...to me it just looks better than a barren bottom...but to each their own I suppose.:thinking:
