I do think you need to setup a tank properly ASAP. I would get a 125g tank MIN. Add liverock and livesand and wait for it to cycle, then move them one by one over the course of a few weeks. If your trates and trites are crazy, im just assuming your ammonia is as well. I would suggest doing a large water change RIGHT NOW. Use RODI water and do maybe 15-20g. You may have to do frequent and large water changes to keep your parameters in check. Good luck!
