Well, he is going on four weeks now and boy has he changed. He now has a reddish face and fins are turning red......he eats a lot of amphipods!!! Kind of like the flamingo's turning pink. Thought I would share.

renogaw, I have halimeda growing in my tank. I purposely started to grow it. (through back from my freshwater tank days ) My tangs eat anything else that I have tried. From what I have read it is not a tasty algae, doesn't go sexual as often (or easily), but does suck up the calcium. It is a calcerous algae. I do have to manually thin it back, or it would take over the rocks. I really like the looks of it.
JessiP, he sure has grown.....much to my delight!! My refugium helps supply him with pods and amphipods, mysis...I have boat loads in there, they must be related to rabbits! :cheer:

same thing i've read about halimeda (bad tasting, calcium user). its weird though, i could swear though that all the pic's of halimeda looked like cactus plants and not like an ivy like yours. I actually like yours :) the other pics of it were preventing me from getting it.
