My two tanks

I have a 75gal and a 33gal that I have up and running. The 75 has been up and running for about 1 year and the 33 has been up for about 5 months.
The 75 has 2 False Percula Clownfish, 3 Pajama Cardinal, 1 Domino Damsel, 1 Yellowtail Blue Damsel (origanally 2), 1 Sally Lightfoot (origanally 3), and 2 Peppermint Shrimp (origanally 5). Had a bad green hair algae out break that wiped out all of my clean up crew and all but 2 of my shrimp, 1 of the damsels, and my red lip blenny. Got the algae out and trying to maintain it and plan on getting more for the clean up crew.
The 33 has 2 3 Stripe Damsel, 1 Snowflake Eel , 1 Undulated Trigger, and 2 Cleaner Clams. All are happy and well fed (over fed). I need to cut back on food and do a water change as I have a black algae problem, and add some flow to the tank.
Any advise is welcome on anything to do to the tanks and/or add to them, thanks.

algae did not kill off your cleanup crew. it was something else.
meanwhile, the algae is from excessive nutrients. what are you doing to remove nutrients from the tanks? are you doing regular waterchanges with a good clean water source like R.O.D.I. water?
what are your water parameters?
the crushed coral in the 75- are you vacuuming that out pretty good? i bet that is part of your problem. another part of the problem is that can of flake foood on top of the tank. try feeding a pure food source like fresh fish from the supermarket, chopped finely(i use a blender).
btw- that undulated will get quite large.

water parameters for the 75 are:
NO2 - 0-0.05
NO3 - 20
Ca - 380
KH - 8 (143.2)
PO - 1
PH - 8.0
ALK - Low Normal range
Ammonia - 0-0.25
Salinity- 1.025
don't have the list for the 33 at this time will post when I have them.
I know that the algae did not kill the clean up clew it was the cleaning that I did to the tank to get rid of most of the algae. As far as the cleaning of the coral I do the when i do the weekly water change and no I do not have RO water it is tap. As that is what I can afford at this time. I do have a skimmer on the 75 it was off for the picture as it was being cleaned. I am adding a power head to the 33 over the weekend to help with flow as there is really none in the tank. Most of the rock was not live when put in and I am not sure where I got it from, I have some live rock curing at this time. Also have a sump in the plans for the 75 as well.
Again any help is welcome, and most likly needed.

If at all possible I would try and plumb the 2 tanks together with a common sump(a big rubbermaid with a hole cut in the lid will work fine). This will allow you to place all of your heaters and skimmer out of eyesight as well as giving you the luxury of maintaining ONE water column cutting your chores almost in half. I would also add some sort of backing on your tanks it will make them much more visually appealing,I painted mine black.

you have ammonia and nitrite present in the tank, which is quite toxic to your livestock. i would do a series of waterchanges to remove this. also, what is "low normal range" for your alk?
the algae is from the excess nutrients that are not being removed, and are being added to the tank by feeding, and your tap water. can you buy some R.O.D.I. water from your lfs?
also, live rock is part of the filtration in most of our reefs, and salt tanks. live rock holds the bacteria that breaks down the ammonia, turns it to nitrite, and finally nitrate. if you don't have some sort of media to hold bacteria, the tank is going to get toxic every time you feed. surface area is what your looking for. some use bio-balls for this purpose. if that rock that is in those tanks has been in there for a year, chances are they are holding bacteria. the trouble is, it's not enough to sustain your feeding and tap water.
how long has your rock been cycling?

Thanks for the help X not sure what the low-normal range is that is what the test that i have says. As far as the live rock goes it have been cycleing for about 3 weeks and will be added to the tank in an othe week or so. I will be taking on the build of my sump this week end as well so i will be adding surface area for bacteria. I am also in the hunt for more live rock for the tank, as what I have is not the best it was cheap (free) so you get what you get. If you have anything that will help me out here all is still welcome.
