My unexpected trip to the ER this morning

So...my morning started off with getting up and getting the kids ready for school. I go to leave out the door and my stepson lifts and swings his backpack to put it on (mind you the backpack is completely full of books and stuff.) Well, he hits me right in my lower abdomen. I kinda got upset and told him to watch out. He got all nasty with me and didn't apologize or even ask if I was ok. He just said I was in his way and he was trying to put on his backpack.
So, driving kids to school and I start cramping. I'm crying at this point because it was hurting and he was being a jerk. So I drop them off and as soon as he's out of the car I call my OB dr. Well, she got really serious and told me to go the ER RIGHT NOW!
Get off the phone and drop DD off at grandma's. Dad takes me to the hospital. I get all checked out. Baby is fine. Cervix is intact. All the labs came back normal. I have a contusion on the top of my uterus where the backpack hit.
While I was there the ultrasound tech checked the baby. The stinker was moving so much that they couldn't even track the heart rate. And they were going to check the s e x of the baby...moving too much and crossing it's legs.

So, I go back to my OB next week. Til then I have to take it easy and take tylenol for my pain and soreness.

Whew, you and baby are okay...it is a moms right to make the young fellow feel quilty for at least a month, he owes you some dishwashing and at least a foot rub or two.

He already does dishwashing. It's one of his chores. I'm thinking he can pick up the dog's mess in the back yard for a month. And I wouldn't let the boy touch my feet. That would be just weird. Husband will be home soon. He'll be happy to oblige since I've been working so hard while he's been gone.
I love that man.

Sounds like he's in for a rude awakening.
Be sure to keep in touch with your OB.
Oh yeah. His dad will be back home from being overseas in a matter of weeks and he's got basic this summer.
I keep in touch with my OB dr very well. Any little issue and she wants to know. That's why I love having her for a dr. She actually takes the time to be compassionate and care about her patients. She was the first person I called this morning. I see her again a week from today.

Thanks nothing bad happened to you and your baby

Yeah. Just a little sore. Having a contusion on my uterus is no fun though. My lower back is aching and it feels like cramps. Thank goodness I can take tylenol and relax.
I'm hoping that I can get in and get the ultrasound to see the s e x of the baby soon. Didn't really occur to me til today that I really REALLY want to know. lol The baby just didn't want to cooperate.
Oh well. It'll be even better to find out with my husband there with me and not by myself.

Glad to hear that you and baby are ok. I was SO NOT READY for a sad ending.

Yeah. Me either. I already had to endure a sad ending a month ago with my friend. She was 6 weeks further along than me when she lost her baby girl. Her baby had a chromosome disorder. I'm only a week away gestationally from where she was when she lost her baby.
I was flipping out this morning when all this started. I prayed all the way to the hospital. I'm very thankful that everything is relatively ok and it's something that isn't going to be permanent.
I have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks. A new puppy, my husband comes home and we're going to the ultrasound together which I thought wasn't going to happen. I'm very blessed.
