Right outa my driveway!! Can you believe it!?!? I've never experienced having a vehicle stolen before so in a way it's kinda neat, but can you believe it??
It was stolen 1 week ago and found 2 days later. Thank God for insurance, I have a rental and they are fixing up all the broken locks and ignition and stuff. But I just had to share this. I guess that's what I get for leaving it right out where everybody could see it... :notsure:

No WAY! Well at least you have it back, that is the best thing, but I can just imagine how you looked and what you thought when you went out to get into your van.
What is this world coming to when people steal a mini van for joy riding in?

Dang girl..............right outta your driveway? What the heck were you thinkin' putting it there?
Same thing happend to a friend of ours Explorer. BUT....she left the keys in her purse IN the car. LOCKED though.

The guy broke into it, then robbed a convenience store and took off with it. They found him and the car at some flea bag hotel. Needless to say the car was trashed! They really didn't want it back.
Sorry for your troubles.

LoL...only Tizzo would think it was 'neat' to have her car stolen from her driveway.

Thanks Tizzy-wizzy - you are truly an inspiration

We should all be so lucky to have such an upbeat attitude in the face of adversity! :jumping:

that really sucks,, i woke up this morning and seen handprints on all the windows of my car as if someone was scoping it out to steal or whatever.. hope they knew a benz is hard to steal. im all worried now though, its a uneasy feeling.. my last truck got broke into, they tried to steal it, but couldnt get it to start i guess, you could see they tried, but they did steal every bit of my custom stero out of it.. i keep my new car stock, just to give them no reason, and they still check it out.. i hate theaves,, why cant people just learn to leave other peoples stuff alone

oh, i know skirrby. my mom went to open the door of her mercedes and she didnt know it was locked and the alarm went off! that thing is ear piercing and SOOOOO loud! i didnt even know it had an alarm lol. plus, ieven if you did break into it, her key is a thing with a lazer or sensor or something. you have to have that to start it. We keep ours in the garage. i guess it also helps that my dad parks his police car in front of the house.
a couple years ago, someone came to our street and broke into every car parked in the street and in driveways. it was awful. and there was a lot of cars out in the open because i live on a cul-de-sac. we were all shocked because our neighborhood is in a pretty good area.

Actually the value doesn't bother me much, cause I was never planning on trading it in anyway. Besides, it's a chrysler (town & country) so it depreciated pretty quickly anyway.
I took it to look for an upgrade in a Honda or Toyota model and haven't seen anything I like as much. And Chrysler's prices are to high for me to trade, so I planned on keeping it til it dies...
Besides, I'm one of those people who don't like new vehicles. I don't like having a family vehicle that I have to treat like thin ice for the first few months only to watch the inevitable happen anyway...
But thanks all for the concern. Least it was locked!! I was actually relieved to see that the door lock had been pummeled. I knew then that it wasn't my fault!! Except that I left it out in plain view, lol...

Yeah, that's what I went to look at. That's actually what my first choice was but the Chrysler place matched their upper end T & C with the base model Toyota so I got that. Now my hubby just got a 4-Runner so I figured I'd get a Toyota too, but I love all the features that I currently have. The van is only an 03 so it's not that old, the stow-n-go seats were the only reason I was looking to begin with...

Sorry to hear that Tizzo, but would this be a good time to get a new car - smaller or electronic - after all the gas prices are high and the van consumes alot of gas compared to a smaller one!!
Heard about the capping of the gas prices in our old home - Hawaii?
Good luck on your return of your van, hopefully there wont be a third time for it to be stolen!!

I can't get a smaller car. I have 2 in carseats and a 10 year old and I travel...a lot. Yeah, I've used every square inch of space enough to justify the purchase.
But I didn't know what you meant when you said "third time", I only had this one theft.
But no, I haven't seen the prices in hawaii... I don't keep up to much, I miss that place terribly and if I start reading up on it I will get a bug to go back that just won't go away and I don't wanna bring that onto myself til I have my plain ticket.
BTW, your blue linckia is still doing well! 4.5 inches at last measure. LOL

I had a pickup stolen from a car repair shop. It took seven seconds to slim jim the door, punch the ignition and be on their way. All on video. They used it to haul all the tires and other stuff they had stolen. When the car repair place called to tell me, they said I could come and get the keys and the tailgate. They always take them off because of them getting stolen. Ha! Ha! Anyway, it reappeared three weeks later in a bad area of Daytona with no damage and none of the work tools missing.

Hey Tizz,
Know what you mean! I haven't gone back yet -- it's been 2 years!! They say that the prices of the tickets will go up as well because of the rising gas prices. The next time I go back, I will bring back some live sand!! -- I wonder if this will work!
Well, anyways, it sounds like you have a full load and you need that big van! Perhaps, look into getting starlocks or an alarm system that will shut off if not turned on with a key. Or how about a loud annoying alarm!! My bad, I thought I read that it got stolen 2x - I think me being too tired!!
Hey, I can possibly get my very own linka -- I'm getting a 37 gallon TODAY!! Do you think it would be okay now that I got 7 more extra gallons? I wonder what opihura would say!!!
Well, take care and Mahalo for taking care of my blue linka
