Cool. Looking good. If you are wanting to keep a reef system complete with corals and inverts, I would slowly raise your Salinity up to 1.025. You can do this by topping off your tank with Salt Water instead of RO water.
as a guideline it is, but it depends on what your keeping , salinity can go up for corals, its great for fish only. Starfish like it a little higher around1.025
i agree. all parameters look good except for salinity. i would slowly raise it through water changes to around 1.023 to 1.025. what is the temp of your water?
Fish only right now, but do have 2 green brittles, and 1 red serp star
I have live rock and was wanting some easy corals in the near.
I just did a water change 2 weeks ago, so can I just add a little salt?
78-80 temp stays steady between these
you should never add straight salt to your tank. you always want to mix new saltwater for 24 hours with a small powerhead and a heater. you can mix a small amount of saltwater with a slightly higher salinty than your main tank and use that for evaporation top offs or you can make saltwater for your next waterchange with a slightly higher salinity. i do a 10% water change on my tanks weekly. temp of new water should be same as main tank.
Ok I will bump up for the next water change this week end, I have a 400 maxi jet will that work, I can get a small heater today.
I have DO type of water filter I use?
ok "DO" may be the wrong Initnals? this is what my filter does....it makes Deionized water for me. I will change the power head towards the front
water exchange how does one calculate that, do I add up all GPH?
so with my current set up 3000 turn over rate? at 32x? is that right
