my xenia got ripped off its base!

I bought a very small xenia frag yesterday and rubberbanded the base to a piece of rubble. This morning I woke up and all that was left on the rubble was the base.
I found the head but now I have no idea which way is up or down. I just put a rubberband right over the top of it this time. Is it going to die now? Or will it still attach? Please help!

It will attach. It may reduce to a snot spot but new xenia will grow in the spot. Those buggers are tough.

In fact, if it reduces to a "blob" more than one new head might sprout from the it. No worries!!

dont worry weather you like it or not, you wll have more xenia then you can shake a stick at. I started with 2 small frags 6 months ago and now 1/4 of my 75 gallon tank is xenia (i need to frag it.) Ive even had tank mistakes where I killed my xenia down to the stumps, but it grows back like a weed.Attachment 222929
