My Xenia Looks Like Broccoli

i have a pulsing xenia that i put in my tank a few days ago. i did a water change today and all of a sudden my xenia has closed all of its "hands" (forgive me for sounding stupid). is it just eating the things that were stirred up? or is it freaked out? help!

They do that sometimes....did you mix your water good? Did you make sure the salinity of the new water was tghe same as the old water?

HECK NO! i suck at mixing water. i go to the lfs and buy it pre made. but yeah i checked the tank and it is exactly the same in every way. i thought it might be having a feast on the small things i didn't get that got all stirred up.

haha yeah I know I was reading the putty thread. But from my understanding xenias are had to kill. %%
I'll be following the results since my water changes get pretty messy also haha. I think its because of the size of our tanks, when we dump the new water in it hits the sand a lot faster if you dont go really slowly.

must be.... plus i'm short and my tank is on a counter in my living room. it's hard to hold the jugs of water almost above my head!

oh well, it looks like its relaxing but i'm not going to sigh in relief just yet.

LOL...I have 2 step ladders...but one of my tanks is over 5' tall
xenia is not hard to kill.....it grows like weeds for some...but not all...I can not keep it alive in my 225g
....and I have 2 small bunches in my 54g
who knows

everything is different for different people.... that's for sure! i will be sad if i lose it but it wont hurt my wallet. i only payed $10 for it!

meowzer maybe your cat jumps into the tank when your asleep and thinks the xenia is a toy:O

hey the cat might have! i have to have a good lid on mine so my cat wont mess with it! she loves water! what a weird cat right?

I have no clue about cats! haha
All I know is that they can be nasty animals, they hold grudges.
When I was little my cousins cat jumped on my lap and I got scared and pushed him off and he ended up scratching the hell out of me!
Then my aunt forgot to feed it one morning and when she came home the cat cut her legg up!
mean cats!
My dog on the other hand, you can step on him drop him ect. and he'll stll kiss you and be all happy to see you.

i know! my cat is the devil!
she's mean to me, but my dog will take her by the ear and drag her away! i love my dog!

LOL...That's why I have to have a lid...I'm not worried about the fish, BUT if I ever came in tofind my cat in the tank..I'D DIE
p.s. I am 5'3" LOL

my dog cant even climb the stairs let alone jump into anything! lol
Hes hates water too, giving him a bath is a pain in the ---! I get a bath myself when I give him one.
So much for the xenia thread haha

Nooo. my CAT would jump in the toilet all by herself! my dog is too big to fit!
anyways i'm not so sure about my xenia i'm going to post before and after pics. before will be first and after second. tell me what you guys think. it really did look like pink broccoli! it's looking a little better but i dont really know what healthy and happy looks like!

I cant help you sorry, I have no idea what its supposed to look like either!
I have a tank filled with snails and hermits haha
and a missing fish

i can't even think about one this week. i'm supposed to be buying a filter or sump or something for my 55 gal this weekend. i dont know what to get or to build one or what. but that's a whole different thread.
