That sun coral color is just beautiful!!!!!!!!

It is a beautiful suncoral. Got it from Peef in a trade. I can't get over the condition it was in when I got it. I to this day can't understand why he let such a beautiful coral go. Bet he regrets it though. He should raise these things and sell them. he has a Suncoral thumb.

Why thank you! I did love that coral....Buuuuut it was too much for me in my 24g. I will get another soon though whenever I move and can start thinning some stuff out of the tank. I want to get a black and make it look nice like that one. I have never seen what I would consider a "healthy" black sun. At least healthy up to my standards.
How do those ding dang PE look now? Did they color back up for you or morph again? Any pics?

Oh and hey, I got some tie dye protopaly's and man they don't like my tank or something. They open at night but like NEVER during the day. They are also not the healthiest of my corals if you know what I mean...any info to help a brotha out?
Water and all that is as good as it can be.
I had them in the 150w HQI tank but recently moved them into the 130w PC 10g under the filter to get shade.

Pic speaks a thousand words. Are you feeding it? Protopalys must eat from time to time, meaty foods. They may be starving if they open at night only. That is when the tiny critters and zooplankton come out on the reefs and they may be looking to grab a morsel.

Try shooting some juice toward them for a few days and see if they try to open. If they do feed them and they should stat opening during the day. Low light for a while.
Don't worry about the DIngdangs. weith the Suncoral I feel I got the best part of the trade.

Well maybe just another trade then and glad you are happy. Have you seen my "blueberries" or my "boogers"? They are both suhweeet!
They were open enough to put a fair amount of mysis and other stuff (marine quizine mix) into them and boy they closed up faster than a snitches buttcrack in the shower room. So they are going to be bomb-barded with yummy stuff for awhile to help them make a comeback. Thanks for the info....off to bed now wife has the cam so no pics but she will be back tomorrow so I can post them up.

Well your zoa collection has really grown and they are all gorgeous! I'll bet you had to get a second or third job to pay for all this beauty!
I hope you don't abandon your ricordias though. They are the prettiest ricordias I have ever bought.
Most importanly, what does your angler fish think of all the zoas? Does he change color to match the zoas he is next to?

Michael,
What kind of camera do you use??
How close to the tank are these shots taken??
I can never get a nice clear close up of my corals like you do yours. I have a Canon Power Shot S3 IS 6 MP 12x zoom
