mysterious death

I just got back from flagstaff last night to a dead fish. It was my red scooter blenny. The weird thing was he was just skeleton and flesh. no skin and no head or anything else. I have a clownfish 2 damsels and a flame hawkfish. Was it the hawkfish?

What is your clean up crew?
It is easier and more tempting to assume a fish was perfectly healthy and was killed than to want to think it died for some reason. But we really have to consider both options.
How long have you had this fish?
Was it eating any prepared foods?

The tank size is 46 gallon. i have about 35 lbs of lr. the water is fine. I have hermit crabs, sand sifting star, snails and a tiger cucumber for my clean up crew. I have had the fish since January. and prepared foods? meaning me making them...if so then No.

So it was not eating prepared foods? Frozen, mysis, anything? IMO the fish may have starved, this is one that needs lots and lots of LR to grow the copepods it feeds on. Definitely commonly starves, and the cleaning crew would make short work of it once that happened. I certainly do not think a hawkfish was to blame.
