1) Must be in a reef tank
2) Must be established for at least a year or more
3) Must have a refugium
4) No aggressive tank mates (ex: dottybacks, pseudo, or six line wrasse)
5) Make sure he or she eats at the store (live brine)
6) Leopards can't resist live brine
7) Then move him to pellets and flakes
Enjoy, Leopards are truly one of the coolest reef fish.

I'm going to say no to Orchid dottyback(fridmani), b/c all dottybacks are pretty much aggressive in my experience. How big is your tank, 120?
What's up nflnutswif? I like to shop at Fishland and Aquatic Center. Scott at Village tropical is really nice guy.

It would go in the 120. My fridmani hasn't been mean to any of it's tank mates, but the only thing its size is a hector goby, psychedelic mand., and perc clown. Plenty of pods, I probably have 200 lbs. of LR.

I just don't trust any dottybacks, but that's just my experience. first couple of weeks is very crucial for the leopard, and you don't want leopard to be bullied by the pseudo. That could be the end for the leopard wrasse.

The key for me is a month in qt. No pods to feed on there. It's live brine or bust. I doubt it'll feed on the other frozen stuff off the bat. I have to order mine off the internet, because my lfs' don't carry the "cool" fish. Thanks for the adivce Hunny! Not many people have or care for the leopards...

Hunny, I just got an african leopard wrasse today. It's really cool looking. It's all white with only red spots. I found a guy at a lfs (not really that local though) that had one already qt'd and ready to go. I acclimated it to my 120 for about 4 hours and of course as soon as I put her in it buried itself. I know this is normal behavior, but how long should I wait before I worry?
Oh yeah, the guy at the store was feeding it a mix of brine, mysis, bloodworms, formula 1 frozen, and cyclopeeze. Smells real bad, but I made some for it.
