may be penut worms... take a look at some of the peanut worms and see if they look like the ones you have.
 
I dont know WHAT a peanut worm looks like?? They dont move.. they are just sitting there.. They look like VERY SKINNY koi food sticks...LOL

I have those in my tank too from time to time...Don't know what they are though. They never seem to move but jus appear as if they fell out of the rocks at night and died where they landed.
I put a pic up a while back and no one was able to ID them.
do a search for "whats this" and my user name, see if the pic looks like yours. (I rebuilt my machine recently and lost all my pics)

ahh.. dont move.. definitely not a peanut worm...
have you tried to move it? does it disintegrate or is it more like a stick?

I think its waste from peanut worms. Point a flashlight in the general area after the lights go out. I have the same thing on my sand and when I shine a flashlight in the tank at night there is a long white worm that produces the same thing that is in that pic.

Those stated appearing in my tank when ti was still cycling, so whatever created them, must have snuck in with my rocks..

Oh well...I was going to guess blennie turd.My little guy poops at feeding time from excitement.It usually resembles an algae green color too!:D

I just cant stand all the yucky stuff that appears. and when I see it.. I wanna know WHO DID IT..LOL Occasionally, my anthias farts, or so it seems... bubbles come from his behind.. I think its hysterical!!
