did you get a chiller? the only reason I didnt get that tank is because everyone I know that got one ended up nedding a 300.00 chiller. I know where you got it , they always have the best price! Dr. ?

Since it is a closed hood system, I think you are going to need a chiller during the summer...unless you keep your house cold.

another thing you can do is put the legs of any fixture and screw them in to the HQI hood and it works fine. Coral Keeper did it like that.
great tank you have there i must say!

HAHA. I live in Texas and it gets hot here during the summer. I can't afford to keep the house at 73 to offset my halides but I have a stand up fan that I used for my biocube and frozen bottles ready to go in case things get too hot. I just will have to remember to keep replenishing the evaped water...and that will happen a lot now that I don't have a hooded tank!!!

I know what you mean I live in west texas, but my wife freezes me out in the summer and burns me up in the winter.

Looks great! Enjoy the ride, I have had fun with mine through all of the cycles. I know my jbj cycled around 1-2 months in. I lost almost all of the coral I bought for it during the diatom cylce but live and learn!
Other then that the best thing I did was replace the black carbon in the middle chamber with some chemipure elite, best stuff ever!
