First thing I need to say is that Current USA customer support sucks. I got a immediate call on Monday and of course they at Current USA have bankers hours and are almost impossibe to reach if you are a working individual. I had to wait until today to reach them. I told them what at happened and they were quick to say it's not anything that the powerhead could have done. I beg to differ. The noise and smell was coming out of the powerhead and they said it's impossible that it could have killed everything in your tank. I immedietly did a test on the water and all readings were normal. They really had no response. They said well the smell of rubber could have come from your aqua pod. It is made in china and has a new plastic smell. In the end they said I assume you have a live fish store around, take your pump and have them troubleshoot it. They are a completely usless customer support team. Just on a side note when I removed all the dead fish they were as hard as rocks. Typically you don't see anything like this in dead fish. I lost 2 clowns, a goby, 2 cleaner shrimp, and 16 scarlet hermits. I am supprised though that my snails appeared to be dead, but I left them in because I didn't want to remove all my rock work to get to them. I picked the turbos and astrea snails up and they were far inside their shells and thought to be dead. After hooking up a seacone protien skimmer for 2-3 days they all of a sudden came back to life and started to move it was really bizarre. All my Nassarius Snail's seemed to have survived. Be cautious when using this skimmer, it doesn't seem to work that well and then end result cost me a lot more than the little 29.99 skimmer. I think I will leave the seaclone in operation and switch to metal halide lighting. Any one have any additional questions can contact me here. If anyone needs Current USA's telephone number I can post it too. It was hard to come by.
