I'm sorry for your loss. I had the same thing happen to the 37 gallon I had a long time ago... killed several hundred dollars worth of fish and corals.

We currently don't run a heater on either of our tanks... haven't run a heater since we had the 37 gallon and it overheated. But then, we live in Texas. :) So between the constant temperature of the apartment and the heat from our lights, our tank temp stays right where it needs to.

how do you keep your tank warm?!

Well perhaps i should run a heater. But in a heated and air conditioned room with heat from the tank lights, things seem fine.

i'd have to say, if it took them fast would be better than having them die a slow painful death, i hate going ot the lfs and seeing fish dead/ dieing
