nano problems. Can anyone help?

I've had my jbj 12gal nano since christmas and have had nothing but problems. I set it up and everything was great for a week or two. Then it would make a loud cracking noise and the lights and fans would cut out and then come back on, eventually the lights wouldn't work at all but the fans would. I called jbj and they sent me a ballast for the lights. I installed, it did the same. So jbj sent me every electrical component minus the bulb. (light ballast, fan ballast, switch, small circuit board) This worked great for a while but now its doing the same thing again! I don't know what to do. Has anyone else had a problem like this or did I just get a lemon? There is moisture in where the components are, so maybe thats it. Any idea what this could be? Also, I can hit the side and the lights and fan will come on briefly, then the same problem will occur again. Luckily I don't have any corals in there yet so no lost life.

careful with that. my dad had some electrical probs in his 125, bulb was sparking. thinking it was a fire hazard, he replaced the ballast and bulb. 5 days later, it caught fire while everyone was at work, boiling the fish and doing a grip of damage to the house. my advice is fing a total new system of lighting, dont mess with a particular type if its showing electrical probs

I have not had any problems out of mine, and I've had it for over a year. Sounds like you got a lemon. It sounds like you are fairly good w/ wiring so you can try extending all of your wires for the ballast to make it go outside of the hood so it stays cool. I did this w/ mine as soon as I got it because I heard it was a problem.
